Dr Amy Agahi

Clinical Fellow, Bupa

Dr Amy Agahi graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2009. She completed her Foundation Training in South Thames followed by Core Medical Training in Northwest London. She is a senior Radiology Registrar at Barts Health NHS Trust.

Amy has a keen interest in medical education and has spent a year as a Clinical Teaching Fellow and Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Barts Health NHS Trust and complemented this with a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education. She is an accredited simulation trainer and is involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate curriculum training and organisation.

She also has a keen academic interest, having obtained a Masters degree and worked as a Clinical Research Fellow between training posts.

Amy has a particular interest in patient safety and has led and collaborated in quality improvement projects including the national Patient Safety collaborative programme run by NHS Improvement. Formal management roles on the patient safety ‘deteriorating patient group’ at Newham University Hospital and her role BMA local representative during the 2016 contract negotiations have further developed her leadership skills."

During her time at Bupa Amy hopes to gain a better understanding of the processes involved in the initiation and running of efficient, cost-effective and evidenced based services. She is also keen to explore how we can better harness advanced emerging technologies to optimise clinical services and deliver patient-centred, more personalised care.
