Culture

Creating a culture of excellence in medical leadership and management
…or is it simply creating an excellent culture?

If you are at the helm of an organisation employing thousands of people, or even the leader of a team, you have precious little chance of your vision and strategies being enacted if you merely issue commands, however persuasive you might be. What you can do is pursue a vision that is ideally owned by all staff and create a culture which means that they will deliver the vision even when you are not around.

In order to foster such a culture we need to encourage openness throughout the ranks and an environment where blame is the exception, not the rule. Within reason, poor performance should be addressed constructively to allow colleagues to learn from their mistakes.

Here we pull together a range of resources which focus on leadership and culture and the links between them.
