Mrs Elizabeth Kershaw-Naylor

NHS Midlands Region
NHS Regional Clinical Leadership Fellow 2022/23
Physiotherapist

Beth has been working as a physiotherapist since graduating from the University of the West of England in 2003. She has completed a masters module in burn care.

Beth has worked in the South West of England, completing varied rotations as a more junior physiotherapist in several secondary and tertiary hospitals, before finally specialising in paediatrics in 2008.

Beth’s specialty is paediatric neurosciences, where she is currently a team lead in a regional centre. She provides specialist assessment and rehabilitation to children with both acquired and congenital neurological conditions.

Reason for applying for the scheme

Beth is passionate about leading service improvement projects based on best evidence in order to help innovate and expand services. She intends to use this enthusiasm and experience to help shape the NHS Midlands Network and beyond. Beth hopes to gain a wealth of knowledge during her year, which will then allow her to bring ideas and positive change to her clinical role.

Beth aspires to develop her management and leadership skills in order to pursue and secure a network wide role in the longer term. She intends to enable change and improvement on a grand scale. She hopes that the project management and development skills gained from the Clinical Fellowship will enable her to improve equity and quality of care across the region and nationally.

As an AHP Clinical Fellow, Beth also hopes to gain a broader perspective into other AHP roles and responsibilities in order to better shape services and support those NHS staff that she represents.
