Dr Johnny Stewart

Johnny is currently a ST3 in General Practice based in Northern Ireland. He has a keen interest in medical leadership and founded the Northern Ireland cohort of the Next Generation GP leadership programme for GP trainees and early career GPs. He holds various roles within the British Medical Association and Royal College of General Practitioners representing Northern Ireland trainees and colleagues.

Johnny has been involved in research throughout undergraduate and postgraduate training. He received a Master’s in Research (MRes), was an Academic Foundation trainee, and is currently a General Practice Academic Clinical Fellow. His current research interest is investigating how routinely collected data throughout our healthcare system can help us better understand of conditions such as asthma.

He has an interest in Quality Improvement and has completed a number of training via the Safety Quality and Experience (SQE), Senior Trainees Engagement (STEPWest) and Experience in QUality ImProvement (EQUIP) Programmes.
