Dr Naomi Gadian

NHS South East Region
NHS Regional Clinical Leadership Fellow 2022/23
Doctor

Naomi is a public health registrar whose passion for public health began whilst working as a junior doctor undertaking paediatric training. Having moved to South East region during foundation and paediatric training, she stayed in the region for her public health training programme and undertook an MSc in Public Health at Southampton University. This was to develop her interest in public health, particularly around prevention and inequalities.
Naomi has worked across regional and national teams to promote health prevention and health protection. The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the important of NHS organisations and public health teams working closely together to optimise care and resources, whilst identifying and supporting under served populations.

Reason for applying for the scheme

Naomi applied to the NHS Regional Clinical Leadership Fellow Scheme programme as she is keen to learn about and experience implementing change at a population level within the NHS, whilst incorporating public health principles during work within an NHS management team. This integration into working with NHS management teams allows her to gain experience with a multitude of professionals. She plans to explore avenues to combine developing her management and leadership skills with her public health training. She will learn from inspiring leaders about effective leadership and management and this will build her confidence and her ability with this skillset. These abilities will remain key during her future work as a public health consultant to ensure suitable, required changes are implemented and sustained.
