Ms Camila Becker

Camila Becker graduated as a Pharmacist in Brazil and completed the conversion course (OSPAP) at the University of Brighton, having now worked in the UK as a qualified Pharmacist since 2012.

She undertook her pre-registration training year at The Whittington Hospital. She has since worked in different areas in the hospital setting (Medical admissions, Surgery, Cardiology, Respiratory, Head & Neck Surgery, Medicines information, Haematology, Renal) while also working at Guy’s and St Thomas’s NHS Foundation Trust, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

She has completed the post-graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy at Queen's University Belfast, Pharmacy Proficiency Statement in Education & Training (King’s College), and is a Non-Medical Prescriber (King's College).

She currently works as Lead Critical Care Pharmacist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and is a key participant of the MDT and wider Critical Care (CC) Team.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, she led the CC pharmacy team and upskilled pharmacists to support CC cover. She has since used learning from COVID-19 surges in Critical Care as an opportunity to plan and review services, improve workforce training in CC and share learning via Critical Care Pharmacist Networks.

Reason for applying for the scheme

The Clinical Fellow Scheme opens the prospect of expanding and developing her leadership skills while continuing a clinical role she is passionate about. It will also expand her opportunities to be involved in networking and external collaboration.

Camila excels in challenging environments and aspires to work at a more senior level where she can drive change and have a wider impact on the quality of service provision. The learning opportunities provided by the scheme will be paramount for Camila to develop the vision she has for the services she provides.
