Reason for applying for the scheme

Sophie’s goal is to help to embed professional leadership within all levels amongst the NHS. Sophie understands that further individual education on leadership will help her to role model leadership skills needed, and with the ability to use her knowledge of education and change management to implement leadership within clinical practice. Leadership within maternity has been in the forefront of excellent clinical care with the recommendations from Morecambe Bay and Ockenden reports, therefore this is something that Sophie wishes to continue to drive to improve standards.

Sophie has spent many years encouraging others to continue to learn and improve on their own practice, supporting students, midwives and her own team to continue to progress and learn throughout their career. Sophie would like to explore more about how coaching can be used to improve practice, aid retention and drive the future workforce.

Sophie understands the importance of learning from others with regards to leadership and is excited to engage with others within the scheme.
