Mr Rajeev Raja

Occupational therapist

Rajeev trained as an Occupational Therapist in 2003; he started his career in the NHS in 2010 and worked in various clinical areas like Urgent Care, Frailty, Acute Medicine, Neuro-Rehab, and community rehabilitation. He contributed his research skills in the past and became an author of two research articles published in prestigious journals.

He completed a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) as well as achieved a Project Management qualification (PRINCE 2 Foundation) that added additional knowledge and skills in the public health area as well as project management skills. Rajeev completed the Mary Seacole Leadership Programme from NHS Leadership Academy to strengthen his leadership qualities.

Rajeev is a strong advocate for playing the role of AHPs in the field of Public Health to improve Population Health and contribute this knowledge and skills to reduce health inequalities on a local level and create a healthier environment and improve the quality of life of the local population.

Rajeev is currently working as a senior clinical assessor in the Rapid Access Team in Bromley Healthcare. He is passionate about facilitating others’ development and embedding leading by example when supervising others and peer-supporting colleagues.

Reason for applying for the scheme

Rajeev’s career development to date has paved his passion for leadership, service development, reducing health inequalities through the use of public health principles/approaches, and demonstrating the value that AHPs bring to the NHS and to the communities. He is passionate about becoming a part of this regional fellowship scheme, and wants to continue developing his leadership skills, a deeper understanding of the NHS and its processes would help to deliver the best practice in the NHS.
