Dr Vidushi Golash

Clinical Fellow, Health Education England

Vidushi graduated from the University of Leeds (MBChB) and Kings College London (iBSc in Neuroscience) to serve as a foundation doctor in North Central London. Currently in her ST3 year of speciality training, Vidushi is passionately pursuing a career as an Ophthalmic Surgeon, with research focused on teleophthalmology and surgical simulation in training.

Vidushi believes strongly in the huge potential of junior doctor empowerment and collaboration. Motivated by her experiences as a foundation doctor, she taught and mentored hundreds of medical students on the 2016 Junior Doctor Contract, advocating the importance and impact of junior doctor leadership. Her proactive initiatives earnt her the North Thames Deanery Certificate of Merit award for Leadership.

Inspired to create interactive, innovative resources, Vidushi co-founded F|Docs, an e-learning tool that was later recognised as a finalist at the Bright Ideas in Health Award 2019. F|Docs is hosted by Medics.Academy, where Vidushi previously enjoyed working as the Clinical Product Manager.

Vidushi has designed and led workshops for an array of audiences at the Healthcare Leadership Academy (HLA) national conference, published and discussed ideas in BMJ Leader and was invited to be a panellist at the exclusive HLA House of Lords event in 2018.

Outside medicine, she can be found in her walking boots anywhere green, hilly and sunny. Her creative outlet is via landscape and aerial photography and videography.

In her clinical career, Vidushi aspires to combine her energy for ophthalmology, education and leadership to continuously develop as a highly-contributive, receptive leader and team member.

As fellow of this scheme, Vidushi is looking forward to an insightful experience into the wider NHS and the opportunity to work with inspired individuals and teams. Based at Health Education England, Vidushi aims to explore digital innovation and improvements for medical education and training, whilst nurturing skills for large-scale project implementation and decision-making in the NHS.
