The Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management extends its deepest gratitude to Professor Sir Mayur Lakhani CBE, whose term as Chair of FMLM ends on 31 December.
FMLM’s Board of Trustees have a vital role in guiding the strategic direction of the charity, carrying responsibility for the statutory aspects of FMLM, including the management and audit of the organisation, directing the affairs of the organisation, and ensuring that it is solvent, well-run, and delivering its charitable objectives.

Since the inception of FMLM’s first Medical Advisors programme, the Clinical Fellow Schemes have grown to encompass 6 programmes across a multitude of clinical disciplines.
The National Medical Director of NHS England, Professor Stephen Powis, was honoured to introduce Professor Chris Whitty, whose lecture theme was ‘Leading through future healthcare challenges’.
For me there were three highlights: Firstly, the fantastic group presentations summarising learning and development over the 12 months; from the use by one group of a rope to show emotional change, to another groups quiz show ‘who wants to be a clinical fellow’ exploring insights and knowledge gained, to the telling of the ‘very hungry clinical fellow’ story depicting transformation from all the experiences and opportunities we have had.
